Beneficial herbs and grasses to plant for dogs:
- Couch grass (first choice of dogs) cats love it too
- Wild oats (2nd choice of dogs)
Non-grassy plants:
- Cleavers (goose-grass) dogs eat this as a food and as medicine, it's
rich in copper
- Dandelion
- Lemongrass
- Fumitory
- Woodsage
- Fennel
- Mustard (leaves and flowers)
- Strawberry
- Borage
- Garlic (leaves)
- Bramble (leaves)
- Mulberry (leaves)
- Fig leaves -- they contain a white, caustic juice which is burning,
which is what they seek when needed, they either vomit up the leaves
or later excrete them
The herbs can be planted in pots, if there's not enough ground space,
but they need to be placed high enough so that the dogs can't urinate
on them and kill them.
Feed dried figs, remove the hard stem stumps. Figs are rich in
vitamins and minerals as well as being internally cleansing.
